Terms of Service

These terms describe the responsibilities and practical limitations of using Semestio, an early-stage student academic hub.

What Semestio provides

Semestio helps you organise semesters, modules, deadlines, exams, grades and timetables. It also offers groups and shared deadlines, feedback and bug reports, account emails and optional Web Push notifications.

Your account and security

Use an email address you control, keep your account details accurate and protect your password and verification or reset links. Do not share access to your account or try to access another person's account. Sign out on shared devices and use the password-reset process if you need to regain access.

If you suspect an account security problem, contact Semestio through the available support route below. Do not send passwords or private timetable feed URLs in feedback.

Appropriate use

Use Semestio for legitimate academic organisation and collaboration. Do not use it to harass others, submit harmful content, expose someone else's private information without permission, send spam, interfere with the service or attempt to bypass access controls.

Your academic information

You are responsible for the academic information you enter and for checking that it is accurate and up to date. Grade summaries depend on the results and weightings entered into Semestio and are not an official academic record.

Always check official college information for deadlines, timetables, grades, exam arrangements and academic requirements. You remain responsible for meeting those requirements and submitting work on time.

Timetables and imported information

Only connect feeds you are permitted to use. Imported information depends on the source feed and successful fetching and processing. A feed can be unavailable, incomplete, delayed or changed, and imports can contain errors. Manual entries also need to be kept up to date. Check your official timetable before relying on a time, location or cancellation shown in Semestio.

Groups and shared content

Share only information you are entitled to share and intend other group members to see. Keep group invitation links within your intended audience. Shared deadlines are entered by users and can be incorrect or out of date; check them against official sources before relying on them.

Reminders and notification delivery

Reminders are an aid to organisation. Push delivery depends on your settings, browser or device support, connectivity and delivery services. Account emails also depend on email delivery services and your mailbox. Notifications or emails may be delayed or fail to arrive. Keep your own way of checking important dates and do not rely solely on a reminder to meet a deadline.

Availability, errors and changes

As an early-stage product, Semestio may change as features develop. The service may be interrupted or unavailable, and features, calculations or imported information may contain errors. Semestio does not promise uninterrupted availability or error-free information. Keep your own copies of academic information you need and report problems through the feedback form.

Privacy and contact

The Privacy Policy explains how Semestio uses account and academic information and the controls currently available.

You can contact Semestio about privacy, data requests or support through the feedback form when signed in with a verified account. Please do not include passwords or private timetable feed links. A public contact address for people who cannot access an account is still to be confirmed.
